Signup fees or subscription fees are a set fee (one-time only, monthly, annually) that the fundraiser has to pay to use the platform.
Also known as a platform fee, this is the percentage a crowdfunding platform takes from each donation a fundraiser secures.
When a platform doesn’t collect a donor fee, the donor usually ends up absorbing the fee. The donor fee is often optional, but the default during the checkout experience will be set to have the donor cover the cost.
Most crowdfunding platforms use third-party payment processors who take a percentage of each donation and then tack on a small charge per transaction. Those charges are the payment processor fees.
