Offering fundraising perks can be a great way to give your donors a tangible reminder of your fundraiser. While you can provide any kind of perk (we’ve seen people offer mugs, phone cases, and even holiday-themed items!), t-shirts are some of the most common fundraising perks that you can offer and distribute to your donors.
This article will teach you how to create incentives and giving levels for your donors to choose from when they make a contribution to your campaign.
Why are Fundraising Perks Important?
Offering a selection of fundraising perks and incentives encourages your donors to give to your campaign. People enjoy the tangible benefits of donating to a charitable cause or a crowdfunding campaign.
Fundraising perks also help you promote your campaign to other people.
Let’s say you design a t-shirt that has the name of your fundraiser, cause, or nonprofit on the front. Every time one of your donors wears that shirt, they are advertising your cause to the world!
Incentives are also a way to let your donors know that you appreciate them.
When a donor receives a t-shirt, mug, or hoodie in exchange for a donation, they feel valued and are more likely to give in the future!
Let’s go through the steps you should take to add fundraising perks to your Fundly crowdfunding campaign.
After you’ve logged in to your campaign, click on “Your Page” in the top navigation bar.
You will then be able to edit your crowdfunding campaign page. Select “Choose a Giving Level” on the right side of the screen.
A pop-up screen will appear that will enable you to select the different fundraising perks you would like to offer your donors. You can add in a donation amount, what that amount will go toward, and add a perk.
Fundly allows you to choose from a variety of fundraising perks and items.
For instance, you can offer your donors:
- Phone cases
- Tank tops
- And more!
After selecting a product, you can choose from a multitude of colors and add designs, text, and images.
Once you’ve designed your shirt or product, it will appear on the right side of your campaign page.
When a donor arrives on your campaign page and selects that particular giving level, they will be taken to a page where they can fill out their payment info, add onto their purchase with another donation amount, and choose to set up recurring donations.
You or your nonprofit will receive the donation amount minus the cost of the product the donor chose.
For instance, let’s say you offered a t-shirt to your donors that cost $12 to design. If this t-shirt is the fundraising perk at the $30 giving level, you will receive $18.
It’s important to price your fundraising perks correctly so that you’re still receiving donations while offering fundraising perks to your loyal donors!
Whenever you design a t-shirt using Fundly’s integration with Spreadshirt, you will see a “Minimum Suggested Amount” that you can choose as your giving level for each fundraising incentive.
